April 29, 2013 La Dee Da

Black velvet paper, white shimmer cs, corner heart punch by EK Success, stamp from TAC

Had a lingerie shower for my hubby's niece over the weekend and I really had trouble figuring out a card to go with the Victoria Secret gift card.  Then I remembered I had a pattern for a dress which I thought I could frill up a bit to look sexy.  Cut it out of some black velvet paper I had, then added a bit of lace and to finish it up I put an added string of black seedbeads (thanks Patti) that I had in my stash forever.  Used the corner heart punch and some black cs and the words on the bottom and I think it worked well.

April 27, 2013 Dizzy Dachshund

Doodle Pantry Dizzy Dachshund, ribbon and clip from my stash, DP DCWV The Pets Stack

Needed to get a card in the am and the little girls favorite animal was her "hot dog" dachshund so I knew I could use this adorable dog from Doodle Pantry and I am hoping it makes her smile.  Easy Peasy for this one - I had a pack of Pet theme cs from DCWV and I had a stash of pet embellishments so it was quick to make and write a note on the inside to let her know I am sending up some angel blessings. This was one of my favorite images from the April release from Doodle Pantry  and it is FREE with purchase through the end of today - this comes with both colored and black/white images, designer digi papers, and sentiments that are fun fun fun.  I have had the fence die for a while - well ok since last August and have just now used it - so much fun and I love putting the wee little birds on the fence.  I just kept adding elements that I thought added something special to my scene - and this card is going postal tomorrow to a chemo patient that is struggling right now, I think this will get a smile. April 22, 2013 All things of Nature

Stamps - Red Rubber Designs, Buttons from my Stash, Palette Burnt Amber ink, Tim Holtz Antique linen Distress Ink, Kraft cs, ivory cs, dk brown c.

I have been playing in a Technique junkie Swap - called "Just One" and I have really enjoyed it, You just have to make one card and in return you get one back, no pressure.  We have to use a technique from the Technique Junkie newsletter or Cds.  For this card I used a technique called "aged tiles" - easy peasy and I love the look.  I used a beautiful stamp from Red Rubber Design which has 5 beautiful realistic birds - and when using this technique, plus it comes with the beautiful sentiment and a bird egg too. You don't have to color the birds when you use this technique.  Hope my swap partner enjoys.

April 16, 2013 Pen and Ink

Doodle Pantry Digi Image and Digi Paper, AMuse ribbon, Spellbinders nesties, feather from my stash, kraft and white cs from my supply.
SURPRISE - a mid month release from Doodle Pantry  and again some great releases but adding some color to prior releases, go on over to Doodle Pantry and click on whats new to see the new releases.  I loved working with this set Pen and Ink and I needed a "just a note" card to send out to a friend so this worked perfect for me to send.  Love the pattern paper that came with the set - matched my kraft paper great.  I used a precolored image and  my deckle rectangle to cut it out - yes I had to cut around the feather a bit but love doing that with Spellbinders.  Remember when feathers were in several years ago - well I am a hoarder and still had a tub of feathers and I thought this looked perfect under the ribbon.  Entered in challenges:

April 15, 2013 Dolphins

Doodle Pantry Image and DP, Spellbinders nesties, wave punch, (can't remember), tag from stash, shell from stash, bakers twine

This week Doodle Pantry is sponsoring "Adorable Animals" over at Craft your Passion  and some of my DT members and I agree that dolphins are not only adorable but animals!!!  Over at Chemo angels there was a special request for a little girl and she loves dolphins so this was the first image that came in my mind when I read the request.  This image comes black/white and precolored (which is what I used) and I resized in my computer so it looks like Mom and little one.  Then the sentiment is also included in this set Dolphins and I loved how it turned out.  I ran across some tags when I was looking for something else and I thought the little shell looked too cute on the tag and tied on the wave with bakers twine.  A little note and some stickers and this card is ready to go in the mail.    I am entering this is :

April 14, 2013 Happy Mothers Day

Doodle Pantry Digi Image and DP, Sentiment AMuse Studio, Washi Tape asst. Spellbinders nesties, rosette paper from my stash, Pearls from AMuse

This was one of my projects when I got together last week with three friends for a fun day of stamping.  I knew my one friend Diane had never made a rosette so what a more perfect image to showcase it on than a Doodle Pantry image Mini Roses, it comes colored or black/white and as I wanted to make the rosette vs. coloring I used the red precolored and printed out matching DP to go with, and I printed the image and DP on an ivory cardstock  which I really like.  I also had never used washi tape on a printed paper either and again I was happy with how this turned out.  Since my daughter does not blog or read my blog this is her mothers day card.

April 10, 2013 A Trip from the Past

Stamp by TAC (no longer in business), bakers twine, DP by Carta Bella, SU punch on corners

I "cleaned" off my bulletin board that I keep above my craft desk and guess what I found - is she not just the cutest???  I know she has been up there for at least 3 years so I made up this springtime card and it is already in the mail to my little chemo girl, sort of reminds me of her.  Enjoy a trip from the past.

April 9, 2013 Happy Birthday

Stamped Images TAC, Black ribbon AMuse, DP from my stash

While I was "organizing" my craft closet last week I ran across a couple of images that I had finished but had done nothing with them.  I needed several birthday cards for March and I knew just who this one was going to go to.  The technique with the college 1920 lady was "polished stone" - and I haven't done that technique in a long long time, I thought the bold Happy Birthday was perfect to go with this image.  It is already in the mail and on its way to Boonville, MO.

April 5 NEW RELEASE Day at Doodle pantry and my pick to work with was these darling flip flops they come in black/white which is what I used and colored them with my Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS, and went to work - how much fun are these to color - and you could add flowers, bling or whatever you wanted to add.  I then cut them out with the circle Spellbinders and mounted that on a salmon colored labels #5 die - started with Kraft cs, added my "beach" of fine grit sandpaper, then started to make the beach scene, what fun I had adding elements.  This set is FREE April 5 through April 24  with any purchase during the month of April and with spring/summer coming this set would make a great set to work with for many occasions.  Also

April 4, 2013 Happy Anniversary Poppies

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, Spellbinders nesties, Happy anniversary stamp Kolette Hall, base card - Michaels, red cs bazzill, DP from my stash, crochet flower made by one of my patients, stick pin from my stash
I have "several" anniversary cards to make for April - some are milestone occasions like 40th, 50th, and then some are standard Happy anniversary.  I also have a wedding card to make, 2 birthday cards, as well as my Chemo Angel card requests,  - plus new release for Doodle Pantry so I am going to be busy!!  No idle hands here for sure.  For this card I used Poppies from Doodle Pantry which you can find Here.  I used the precolored images as it went so well with my red theme I was using.  Love the crotchet flower embellishment that one of my favorite patients made for me (she made me several in a variety of colors) and I "found" a set of 3 stickpins that went perfect with this image.  Love finding things I forget that I have!!!

April 1st, 2013 Happy Birthday Cascading Card

Amuse CS, flower nestie and butterfly dies, Sentiments from asst. stamps, pearls from my stash.

One of my besties Pat has a birthday this week and I made her this special card which I was able to hand deliver as she came over on Sat. for a couple of hours.  She always makes amazing cards so I was very happy with how this one turned out -  she was very happy with it and said she was going to "display" it all week as she is having a house full of company! She also liked the AMuse gift certificate that was tucked in with the card.  Her only problem was deciding what to order.  LOL - oh my what a tough decision to have to make.  This is the 2nd cascading card I have made and this one I made with an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of cardstock where as the other one I made I used a 12 x 12 piece of cs.  These are so much fun to make and even more fun to decorate.  Entered in Challenges:
