January 25, 2017 Anything Goes at The House that Stamps Built

I love it when we have Anything Goes over at The House that Stamps Built.
I have been eyeing this moose stamp 1930-I a Moosage as I love the play on words and  I have a senior buddy that lives in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan Canada  and I write him a letter and send a card every week so this was PERFECT.  I used a special fold of folding the right corner in (see blog post here with my tutorial).  I thought it needed just a bit more so I die cut the Hello die.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the Anything Goes and enter it in The House that Stamps Built challenge
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discount coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

January 24, 2017 - Hedge Hog Smooches

Every month Gerda Steiner has a monthly challenge in which she gives you a digi to make a card and participate in her challenge.  Then next month you will get the "free" digi of the month - again to create with.  I loved the hedgehog smooches - fun to color, and fun to work with.  I put them on a red hert doily, added a small snippet of ribbon that I had left punched the corners out with a hert corner punch and this card is complete.  I wish I had made the die cut word love in black.  So why not check it out and make a card and enter in this months challenge.

January 23, 2017 Calendar

A couple of weeks ago my friend and SU demonstrator held an open house for the new occasions catalog.  This is one of the make-n-takes we did - and the other one has been mailed at least 10 days ago.  I am so anxious to get my goodies that I ordered - (like I need more stuff), but they really had some fun new sets.

January 21, 2017 Coffee and a Card

My friend and SU consultant has started a fun new get together at a local coffee house here in historic downtown Farmington, Koljac Cafe - they have wonderful coffee, latte, cappuccino, and pastry treats as well as salads and sandwiches.  For a small fee  Sally brings all the supplies to make a card and you buy a cup of coffee or tea.  Fun get together with friends, fun new ideas, great for not only the experienced but the new stamper as well.  She is doing this twice a month on a Tuesday.  This stamp set is by SU - Sheltering Tree. I totally enjoyed the time with friends and with being creative as well.

December 18, 2017 The House that Cards Built Photo Inspiration

January is well over the half way mark - and although we did not have snow this past weekend but we have a beautiful ICE storm.  Thankfully there was no downed power lines - we did hear some trees in our woods falling but all in all it was just a good weekend to stay inside.

When I saw our photo/color inspiration for this challenge I already had it planned in my mind - I absolutely love 10600 HOLY CRAP sheet.  I recommend to get the entire sheeet as it has so many fun sayings - I keep this set close by as my go to set.

I used the outhouse as my focal image and then built my scene around the outhouse.  Trees are from Tim Holtz, small individual trees are from Memory Box and the hill side mounds are from AMuse Studio.  Some white pen - stickles, and pop dots completed my scene.  I need several January cards and I'm thinking this will be made more than once this month.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the photo inspiration/colors and enter it in The House that Stamps Built challenge
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

January 11, 2017 - Tic-Tac-Toe at The House that Stamps Built

Our DT and owner of Repeat Impressions  Wendy - has added a fun new challenge to our weekly challenges.  Tic-Tac-Toe and the choices are many - jsut like you would play Tic-Tac-Toe pick out three in a row, across, up and down or diagonal and make your challenge card using those selections.  I used Glitter, Blue and Snowmen.  I used the 4715-K Snow Light and 1113-D Happy Birthday
using glitter, blue and snowmen.  I colored the candle he is holding as a birthday candle, use blue glitter paper for my background and silver glitter for his hatband.  I then used a punched  coversation cloud for the sentiment and had some funky diamonds left from a die I had used and added them for just a little extra.
Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the Tic-Tac-Toe theme and enter our weekly challenges at The House that Stamps Built.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

January 4, 2017 - Designer Choice

To start out the New Year 2017 our challenge this week at The House that Stamps Built  was Designer Choice and since it was my turn I choose to do a winter theme but no Christmas.  I choose to use
Sentiment Miss You - plate 10100 YOU
                   Stamp - Peaceful Observation - 2001-M
This was one of the first stamps I got from Repeat Impressions as it had eye appeal as well as heart appeal. I stamped the image and words on vellum and colored on the back side, then mounted it on a piece of snowflake DP.  Punched some fancy corners out of the same DP and used them on all 4 corners with just a little bling.
I think this card could be used for a pet sympathy card as well as a card for someone who is a cat lover.
Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the theme of WINTER (no Christmas) and enter our weekly challenges at The House that Stamps Built.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discount coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

January 3, 2017 Always Remembered

These are by far NOT my favorite card to have to make - but our Rhodesian Ridgeback Recue coordinator had to say goodbye to her beloved boy MAX on Christmas night.  He was such a gentle giant and loved everyone that had a "snack" for him.  He had several health problems the passed couple of years including a couple of surgeries but he always bounced back.

We made a donation in Max's honor to the Ridgeback Rescue organization as all of our Rhodesian Ridgebacks (2 full and one mix black lab/Rhodesian) have come through the rescue organization.  We have fostered several dogs waiting for their forever home, trained a beautiful little pup Elle that now has a forever wonderful home in WI. and with the mixed (black lab/Rhodesian) we are what is termed "failed fosters".  We have 3 beautiful furbabies that let us share their home with us, all weighing in at 75 to 75+ pounds, yes they eat a LOT and require daily or more of clean up in the backyard.  I wouldn't trade them for anything.

January 1, 2017 House of Card New Year challenge

I decided to stay with Mynn Kitchen DT on The House of Cards - because #1 she is a great person - #2 she designs awesome digital images, and #3 I seem to do better if I am challenged a bit.

This is what the photo inspired me to create and I think it captured the scene pretty well.  The stamps I used - cabin is fromRepeat Impressions 2911-I Log Cabin and the sentiment is from Stampendous. The rest of the scene is created with die cuts - tree scene is from Tim Holtz, the white pine trees are from Memory Box and the hill sides are from AMuse.  White gel pen, crystal Stickles and embossing powder create the snowy scene. What a fun card to make.

Why not join our challenge this month at The House of Cards and make a card  using the photo/color inspiration and enter our challenge this month,  House of Cards current challenge.
