May 31, 2017 The House that Stamps Built Sketch Challenge

This week  over at The House that Stamps Built we were given a sketch to follow.  I have had this Spring Frame 3402-K for a while and when I saw  the sketch I knew what I was going to use.  I colored it with copic markers, trying to match my DP a little bit, then had some sunflower buttons.  For my sentiment I used Knowing You 1214-G and added two enamel dots.  I am super pleased with the way it turned out and I have someone in mind that will be getting this.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of sketch inspiration - the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discount coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

May 24, 2017 The House that Stamps Built Anything Goes

There are 5 Wednesdays in May so this is our Anything Goes week, love these weeks.  I made two identical cards, one is more girly and the second one is masculine, or at least I think it is as I sent it our to a guy.  I made a shaker card using tulle netting from Jennifer McQuire tutorial and love it.  It is really the most successful I have been with shaker cards.  I used two fun images from Repeat Impressions Prescription 8417-G and the fun sentiment from the Holy Crap set Feeling Crappy 10627-J and I thought it might bring a smile to the recipients face and cheer them up a bit. Both cards are alike except for the colors and the color of sequins I used.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of ANY THING GOES - the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

May 17, 2017 Photo Challenge

I had to think about this one for a little while - did I want to use the colors or did I want to use the picture - so I used both.  It has been a really LONG time since I have done spotlight stamping - so I thought this challenge would be perfect for this technique.  I stamped 10201-W Flower Power twice on white watercolor paper - (didn't yet know what I was going to do), picked out what image I was going to color for the spot light. Used distress inks for my colors, then punched out the circle - and a slightly larger black circle.  Lined up the images and attached it with tape runner.  Then I stamped a sentiment 9717-C A Happy Hello
and using a smaller punch punched out the sentiment and mounted it on a black circle.  I needed a bit of bling and had room so I used three small yellow pearls.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of Tic-Tac-Toe - the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

May 15, 2017 - Unity Stamps

Just a couple of quick cards that I had stamped and colored a while back and just discovered them in a basket so decided to finish them up for cards.  These both use Unity Stamps which I love using as well as watching there quick videos for new techniques. The stamps stand alone with just a few added embellishments like ribbon or punched butterfly, or an embossed background.  These are in my completed basket ready to sent out when I need them.

May 10, 2017 Tic-Tac-Toe at The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic-Tac-Toe which is one of my favorite challenges.  Lots of possibilities - I used Flowers, Purple and Ribbon or TWINE.  For the sentiment I used 1112-E Just a Note  and for the flowers I used 919-I Iris Window.  I used a "curtain fold" which I had not done in a while but is lots of fun and adds some interest and texture to your card.  I used some old "TAC" paper for my curtain.  I thencolored the Iris Window with copic markers in "purple" and added a tiny purple twine bow to make my card complete.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of Tic-Tac-Toe.  The possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

May 8, 2017 Mother Day Cards

Got my Mothers Day card finished a little "early" this year - I have a package ready to mail to daughter who is the other of 3.  I got her a One Year Devotional Better than Chocolate - and a box of chocolates to go with the book.
The second card is for granddaughter who is the mother of 2 and I got her a gift card for her to use while they are on vacation.

May 4, 2017 - Rain

This is Totally CASE'd from Frenchie Stamps and her video Here - now I follow Frenchie - and love her tutorials - she give such great detailed directions but doesn't drag the video out.  Plus love her accent.  So when I saw her video on "rain" and SU Grunge set (which I have and which I use a lot) I decided to get out some supplies of my own and improvise.  I had an umbrella die - stamped some tiny dragonflies in white pigment ink on the black umbrella.  I used distress inks to do my base and sky. Then the fun begins - I used the grunge set to stamp some puddles under the umbrella - then used the lines from the Grunge set to stamp the rain.  I tried a couple different colors to stamp my rain and finally used a Memento gray.  Then I added some raindrops with my diamond glaze ink and fine point bottle.  The sentiment is from AMuse studio and very fitting for the last week we have had here in southern Mo.  I'm thinking I'm going to send it to a friend who has been baling water out of their basement the last few days.  Enjoy.

May 3, 2017 Designers Choice - For a Special Lady

This month over at The House that Stamps Built, our Rock Star Heather choose For a Special Lady as our challenge theme. Since it is close to Mothers Day I choose to work with a card/and a giftie in one creation.  I haven't made one of these in a long time so it is fun to go back in time.  It is a pocket type card and a package of flower seeds tucked inside.  I used Blossoms Border 1501-L colored with a new set of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Pens. For my sentiment I used I love You 9711-E The picture does not  show the beautiful sparkle but IRL it is awesome  I then used I Love you Bunches - for my sentiment. I put a tab on the flower seed packet with a strip of designer paper and a small flower brad so the recipient can just pull the seed packet out.  I think Mothers Day would be a great time to plant some new flowers
Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of For a Special Lady.  The possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

May 1, 2017 - House of Cards - Use Sequins/Color

This month over at The House of Cards  our challenge was to use sequins and or colors so I went with the sequins.  I love the die I used - by Wplus9 - it has the elegant butterflies as well as the open space which is perfect for a shaker card.  I stamped my sentiment in the center which is an old old stamp from The Angel Company but that I have hung on to for years.  I punched out some small butterflies to mix in with my sequins which are white, pink, and white.  I usually struggle with shaker cards but this one went together "perfectly".  It is a Mother's Day card for my dear daughter.
Come join our challenge this month at The House of Cards.
