November 29, 2017 Sketch Challenge

This week over at the House that Stamps Built we have Sketch Challenge.   Sketch challenges are always a bit of a challenge for me but this time the idea was in my head long before I startedmaking it.  I decided to use
Santa's Friend - 2019-I and again I went for the non traditional colors.  I found some beautiful turquoise/light green DP in my stash and I colored the Santa accordingly.  Now you ask - hmmm...what about the bag - well it is supposedto be burlap - colored with copic markers then took a piece of burlap with copic solution and pressed it on my bag - well didn't get the look that I was going for but I kind of liked it.  I think it is a bit quirky.
Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Inspiration Sketch  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You know have a full month to enter our challenges to win.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discount coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

November 27 2017 - Use your Dies

This week it is my turn over at The House that Stamps Built to do the project of the week.  Since I am in the swing of Christmas I decided to go with a Christmas card and a technique I choose to call Use your Dies.  Below you will see a picture of my supplies.

I went through my Christmas dies (the only ones I really have any organizational skills at all), and choose an ornament die from a set of 4 unbranded dies.  I went with the one that would fit my image

I place the die where I wanted my focal image to go and used some washi tape to secure it.

I kept both the negative and positive images as you will see in a bit what I did with the other image.

Using my sponge dobbers I started with my darkest shade of  blue ink, just going around the outer edge of the die cut, I then used the medium shade of blue and sponged in a bit farther and finally the lightest shade of blue went as far into the center as I wanted to shade.

Using the Angel 905-L  6523-D Let Heaven and Earth and Let Heaven 413-H   I stamped the focal image inside the shaded ornament in my dark blue ink as well as the sentiment Heaven and Earth partial in/partial out the shaded ornament.

I colored the trim on her dress in blue spectrum glittermarker, and her wings in a clear Wink of Stella.  I added some sequin trim and a twine bow at the top.

I used the positive image of the ornament for the inside of my card - shading it again with the three shades of blue and stamping my sentiment inside.  I really like the way this turned out - clean and simple one layer card  I am going to go through my dies and see what else I can use this same technique.  Give it a try.

November 22, 2017 = Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is a favorite- because it is ANYTHING GOES.
I found a fall card from long long ago in which I had done leaves in this style card so I decided to do it with free falling snowflakes.  I'm loving non -traditional  colors this year for the Christmas season - who says it has to be red and green?  For this card I used Snowflakes - 8805-K and for my sentiment I
choose Snow Much Fun - 8810-H.  I stamped the sentiment on some purple vellum, and then tore my edges for the other edges and sponged them.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Anything Goes as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You know have a full month to enter our challenges to win.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

November 15, 2017 Inspiration Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the inspiration photo shown above. I saw glitter, pinks/purples, Christmas so I went with the
Snowflakes - 8805K and stamped them random over my white cardstock.  Then I used three shade of the new oxide inks and blended them together, needed some glitter so spritzed with gold dust spray - then hmmm...still needed some more gold so used Nuvo dots in the center of the snowflakes.  Mounted on some gold glitter cardstock then on some gold shimmer cardstock for my card base.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Tic Tac Toe  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You know have a full month to enter our challenges to win.

November 8, 2017 Thanks

This week over at The House that Stamps Built  our challenge is theTic-Tac-Toe challenge and this is one of my favorite challenges. I chose to go with leaves, stitching (faux) with die cut, and sponging.
My daughters was diagnosed with throat cancer about 3 weeks ago - he is undergoing daily radiation and weekly chemo and so far besides the brutal treatments he is doing ok.  Sometimes the cure is as bad or worse than the disease.
They have had an outpouring of love from their church, neighbors, and friends providing meals, gifts, cards, and prayers.  My daughter asked me to make her some thank you cards that she could send out so I decided to use a fall theme and fall colors.   I used Falling Leaves 3306-I and for the Thanks -  Plate 10000 which has a great selection of words to go with thanks. I choose to use Thanks for your kindness.  Using my Misti I was able to mass produce several of this card.
We are going to go see her next weekend so I will take them with me along with a couple of books of stamps.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Tic Tac Toe  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You know have a full month to enter our challenges to win.

November 5, 2017 Thank You Cards

A month ago my son in law (daughter's husband) went to the doctor with a "sore throat" and within two hours was diagnosed with tonsil cancer - stage 4.  Rare cancer - but treatment started within a week - 7 weeks of radiation to the neck and weekly chemo treatments.  Brutal treatments - but he continues to have lots of faith and is doing fairly well.  Is only able to swallow liquids after 3 weeks of radiation but at least still getting nutrition.
The outpouring of love and support from their church, friends, and neighbors has been unbelievable.  Daughter wanted me to make her some thank you cards to send out so I made her 6 of each of 5 designs.  (the fifth design will be on my blog this Wednesday).  I chose to go with a Faith, Friends type card vs. a typical thank you card.  Kept them very simple.  The cards, envelopes, and a book of stamps is ready to go in the mail tomorrow.

November 1, 2017 Christmas Colors House of Cards

* Note- this is second post of the day.

What a fun challenge this month over at the House of Cards   I used the holiday colors vs. the photo inspiration.  I have had so much fun with this stamp set from Stampendous (special edition from Michaels).  Pick up trucks are "big" this Christmas and to fill it with presents even more fun.  I made my snow bank using some chunky glitter paper, truck and presents stamped, die cut and presents paper pieced.  Love the sentiment that comes with set as well.
Hope you enjoy and will enter our challenge which  runs all month.

November 1, 2017 - Falling For You

This month over at The House that Stamps Built our Rock Star Laurie chose the theme of Falling for You.  I decided to go outside of the box a little on this one and made a big tag using 5110-J Oak Leaf Silhouette and 3103-F Live for .

For some reason my photo does not show the beautiful colors of the leaves which I did applying the ink with a sponge finger dauber.  I did the same for the sentiment and then added some orange splatters for a little added color.  I had some pretty autumn ribbon, a big orange eyelet and some orange twine to finish off the ribbon embellishment.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of Falling for You.  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You know have a full month to enter our challenges to win.
