May 30, 2018 Sketch Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built  our challenge is a sketch:

This is my card for the sketch challenge, I love sketches as it gives you a layout and all we have to do is follow.
I used 8402-M My Sunshine  which comes with the sentiment You are my Sunshine.  I stamped this darling image and then colored with copic markers and followed the layout of the challenge.  Love enamel dots which are in each corner.  I am working on a "box of sunshine" package to send to my chemo buddy next month, everything will be yellow.  Has been so much fun shopping for yellow items.  This card is already earmarked to go with the fun package.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge using the sketch in my post.  As you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

If you look on my right side bar I also have a discounted coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

May 28, 2018 Pick of the Week

This week another designer and I switched weeks so I have two pick of the weeks this month.  I choose to do a technique called Partial Stenciling.  Below you will see the supplies you will need:

Stamps of your choice, die cut shape of your choice, sponge dauber and ink in your choice of color, a stencil, a layering piece of card stock and either painters tape or an easily removable tape to hold your stencil in place.

For  my first card I went with a floral stencil and stamp 10314-H Daisy Solid Lg.  and 10313-H Daisy Outline large and for my sentiment I used 1808-E Just Because

I die cut my circle and using re-positionable tape I taped my circle in the lower left corner (over the edge) of my layering card stock.  Using painters tape position your stencil (floral) over your card stock.  Using a sponge dauber or tool of your choice such as a sponge applicator, sponge your stencil onto the card stock.  Remove your stencil and circle die cut and complete your card in the white space.

I used one of the singles from our Flower Power collection  - stamping the solid image in a yellow and the outline in black.  I used some Nuvo drops in the center of the flowers just for a little extra interest.  I stamped the sentiment and popped it up on a layered "flag" and put it above the focal image.

Well I decided to do another one since I had all my supplies out and for this one I used 5226-I Cat Sitting Sil. and sentiment 9717-C A Happy Hello.  I had this fun cat stencil so it went very well with the cat focal point.  For this one I choose to put my image in the center of the card.
And finished card:

The ideas just kept coming - so look for them on my upcoming "Anything Goes" Challenge.

May 25, 2018 Frog Birthday

Surprise - no I am not back after my surgery - I just prescheduled a couple of extra posts.
I had so much fun with this frog - this stamp set, die, and stencil came with a magazine that I picked up at Barnes and Noble - and lovin the frog.  There is also a duck in the set which I will post next week.
I stamped the frog on green - fussy cut him out, and then put a wobble spring on the back.  This is for a "pastor that I might just know" that is having his 60th birthday soon.  He has a real sense of humor so I think he will appreciate this card.

May 23, 2018 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Anything Goes and sometimes that is easy and then sometimes I really have to think about what image I am going to use.   I used 102-F Dragonfly and 4401-O Dragonfly large and the sentiment 9717-C A Happy Hello.

I used a technique that is allover the internet - called black ice.  'mnot sure if I have perfected this technique "yet" but do like the end result.  I used a pieceof cooper card stock and the dragonflies for my focal images.  I mounted my focal image on some specialty gold paper I have had in in my stash for a really really long time.  Added some enamel dots and the card was complete.  I amanxious to try this technique again real soon.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Anything Goes  as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

May 16, 2016 Inspiration Photo

Today over at The House that Stamps Built  is "Inspiration Photo" challenge day and sometimes I just click with what to do and other days I simply draw a blank, well this was one that I simply didn't know what to do.  So our of my comfort zone I had to step.  I made a tag - and I made it a bit artsy - at least for me - I used one of my favorite stamps 9001-L large butterfly - and did a bit of foiling - IRL you can see the shimmer of the foil but it just didn't pick up for the photo.  I used the sentiment 6521-B Have Faith because to me butterflies just give me peace and faith.  I stenciled the background using a stencil and oxide inks, added a few bling - and a bit of ribbon, twine and a mini clothes pin at the top.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  our Photo Inspiration - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

May 13, 2018 Happy Birthday

This is a birthday card that I am ready to mail out in the morning, but it is also the design that I made my Mother's Dy cards with this year.  It is a SU set - and I watched a couple of videos and then truly "case'd" a card.  I was very pleased with the results.  Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day and hope you had an enjoyable day.

May 9, 2018 Tic-Tac-Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic-Tac-Toe
which is one of my favorite challenges.

I went with the top row across - buttons, babies and pastel colors.  I used
1612-G Ducks on a String and the sentiment 4116-F New Arrival.  I have had them in my collection for a couple of months and this is the first time they have been inked up.  I colored the ducks in soft pastel colors - used a stitched die to cut them out and  then mounted on a pastel strip of DP.  I have not made this style card in a while - where the base is just one layer.  But as you can see the card focal image and inside sentiment image work up really cute.  I bought a BIG roll of rayon ribbon in white and I died this with a copic marker,  I scrunched the ribbon up and put it in a small zip lock baggie with a bit of water.  I then took it out and laid it flat to dry giving  it a rauch ribbon feel.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Tic- Tac Toe  as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

May 7, 2018 Pick of the Week Project.

This week I am doing Pick of the Week over at The House that Stamps Built.

I am doing an OLD technique but one that I have always enjoyed doing - Retiform design.  Below are the supplies:

Stamps of the same subject - (for mine I choose to do "sewing".  I used 3 colors of distress inks, sponge daubers for each color, layering card stock and base card stock.   and scrap paper or post-it notes, copy paper works well also,  better than a piece of card stock.

I choose to go with green as my first color.  Mask off a section or corner of your white/layering card stock.   If you use a post it note you don't need any re-positionable glue or tape to hold it in place.  Starting at the edge sponge the first color - leaving some light or white space is fine. I did this in both corners.

Mask off the other corners with either post it note or copy paper.

I sponged in my blue in opposite corners - again leaving some lighter spaces.

For the center of my project I used a tan/brown color masking off each corner as I sponged in the middle.

Stamp your images in the sectioned colored areas.  For this step I used:
9307-L  Dress Form   9314-E Sew Special  and 9318-B Spool of Thread

I thought the button image went well with this collage so I used:
4126-G Cute as a  in which I got the sentiment and button into two stamps.

I had some tiny buttons which I used for embellishments and a piece of brown twine tied around the top of the card.

Hope you give this a try soon.  There really is no right or wrong way to do technique - just let your imagination take over.

May 3, 2018 April Workshop

Last Saturday one of my bestie friends (Patti) and I had a fun class at her church.  What a fun morning/afternoon of treats, gifties, fellowship, and of course doing some creating.  It was quite a busy session so I really didn't get to see what Patti had her group working on but I know she has her projects on her blog.
I did my projects using fancy folds which is one of my favorite things to do when I create.  I think everyone had a great time and went home with 5 beautiful cards.

May 2, 2018 Designer's Choice

This week over at The House that Cards Built  Donna is our Designer of the month and she choose for us to make a single layer card.  Now I am not real good at one layer - always feels like I need to add more.  But with this card I used
9001-L Butterfly Lg. inking the butterfly in three different colors.  I had masked the center of the card with a circle which I then used for my sentiment
5806-H Happiness,  I sponged a bit around the inside of the sentiment circle.  No embellishments or bling for this card.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Single Layer Card  as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
